Contact The Eldery tackles the loneliness and social isolation among older people. They reach out to the elderly who find it difficult to get out and about. By organising tea parties, which are a real lifeline of friendship for their members, they provide the much needed contact with like minded people which they otherwise don’t have. They bring people of all ages together, develop fulfilling friendships and support networks, and give everyone involved something to look forward to each month. As part of our partnership, Acacia Homecare will donate money for every hour of care that we provide to the elderly as well as help with fund raising. GSL provide domiciliary care agencies with all the necessary infection control, protection and cleaning products to ensure patient care and your safety as a nurse or carer. From disposable aprons, polythene, waste sacks, laundry sacks, incinerator bags, to first-aid, wipes, towelling and house-keeping products our products are used by carers, vets, tattooists, cleaners, dentists, hairdressers plus other contact professions.
Thames Hospice is the local charity for people living in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. We provide expert care to adults who have a life-limiting illness – and their families and carers.
We care for the physical, social and psychological needs of our patients, not just the condition. Our highly skilled medical team work with the patient and their families to develop a complete programme of care tailored to their individual needs. Our services include nursing and medical care in our Hospice at Windsor, Community Therapy Unit in Ascot and in patients’ homes, as well as practical and emotional support. It costs more than £7million every year to keep our Hospice running. We rely on 80% of our income from charitable donations, which enables us to provide our services free of charge, 365 days a year, to the people who need us.
